My 14 Tips to a KILLER GS turn....This is heavy stuff and will be coming in video overlay in December 2003. In- Depth Analysis Austrians
1. Primal Position in the middle of the turn 2. Slightly tip both feet on edge corresponding exact angles 3. The hips are behind the feet and feet are wide apart
4. Counter hips into the direction of the turn 5. Angulation is created from a straightening outside leg 6. The inside leg flexed and slightly diverging 7. Inside leg is leading a lot with flattening of ski
and swiveling out with corresponding Tibia angles. 8. Sit down on inside leg until outside legs catches with feet about two and one half-feet apart.(Not ALWAYS!)
9. The outside leg extends from 180 to about 140 degrees 10. Skis then diverge into your wide stance together at same angles 11. The outside hand is extended out into the turn at about a 45degree angle
12. The inside hand points straight down the hill with grip pointing down fall line. 13. The outside hand points at the target (Gate) 14. Then the hands come together with the pole grips meeting at completion
of the turn 15. Start with a lot of pressure in tthe beginning of the turn and progressively lighten up into your primal position, the opposite of the old school of hit ‘em hard at the end of the turn.
